Biography
HKB FiNN is an artist from London who works across a variety of mediums to create uplifting experiences in spoken word (as a Performance Poet), in music (blending original compositions using elements of Jazz, Hip Hop & Reggae) and in visual arts (photography & videography) telling extraordinary stories about ordinary people.
HKB FiNN has performed poetry & music in over 73 countries & has released 8 solo albums.
HKB FiNN has performed with many groups & ensembles over the years including The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Sinfonia, Bournemouth Orchestra, Viva Sinfonia, Nojazz, Electro Deluxe, Nitin Sawhney, Wise, Blacktop, Robert Mitchell’s Panacea, Samadhi Orchestra & FiNN has written librettos for the Royal Opera House & for Nitro Theatre.
As a poet, writer & performer he has created memorable music theatre experiences with his own production of AMPLiFiER (the worlds first spoken word opera).
His latest release is the wonderful album remastered from the original 2" recordings to produce a warm, crisp and listener friendly sound. The album was originally released in 2005 but 'Acoustic Afro Hip Hop' has been re-engineered by Bob Tomlinson for a new generation.

How did this album come about?

"18 years ago, as a writer & performer, I stepped further into my creativity with a brand new collection of songs.
I went further than I have ever been before with my compositions, performance & collaborations. I made funk tinged with jazz & recited poetry over melodies from Africa that pre dated much of the modern world. So 18 years after it’s original creation, I have re-released my (remastered) Acoustic Afro Hip Hop album. It features the wondrous talents of Eska Mtungwazi, Sona Jobarteh, Robert Mitchell, Tunde Jegede & more all sonically tweaked from the original 2” tape recordings to a new refined version.
